Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
PATER NOSTER, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
I am always struck by the Mass of a Virgin Not a Martyr, specifically the Introit, which is:
Thou has loved justice and hated iniquity: therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Psalm 44: 8
First of all, this is a very virile concept and verse to apply to Virgins-Not-Martyrs, of all people. We should be informed by this.
Also, ISN’T. IT. INTERESTING. that scripture says that people who HATE iniquity (immoral or grossly unfair behavior) and love JUSTICE, will be happy, joyful people. The world, today with Antipope Bergoglio as its spokesman and main propagandist, tries constantly to paint such people as miserable, fundamentally unhappy, mean-spirited, joyless people. I myself am painted constantly thus – what a miserable harpy that Barnhardt is! Clearly she has no friends, and will die a spinster because of her miserable comportment, joylessness, and shrewish, omni-critical worldview.
For those who have visited the “Van Down By the River/Creek”, yes, we share in the laugh.
The reason that people who hate iniquity and love justice are capable of joy and true happiness is, I think, because people who hate the bad and love the good do not go through life trying to hold or reconcile contradictory, irrational premises or positions simultaneously.
For the person who hates evil and loves good, there does not exist the soul-crushing tension that must come with denying the principle of non-contradiction as a defining characteristic of their person, nor the constant juggling of their own hypocrisies. Being a hypocrite is EXHAUSTING for anyone who has not completely descended into full-blown Diabolical Narcissism/psychopathy. This is why DNs are described, and sometimes describe themselves as being incapable of or never truly having known happiness.
In case you hadn’t noticed, post-western, post-Christian, post-human culture, and most certainly whatever “church” Bergoglio and his ilk are busily constructing before our very eyes (let’s call it FrancisChurch), are built entirely upon a foundation of denying that there is One Objective Knowable Truth, and a denial of the principle of non-contradiction.
The existential tension of this abject madness does, without question, bleed every bit of joy and gladness out of the human soul. All that it can ever yield is SUNSUAL, MATERIAL “pleasure”, which inevitably descends into narcissism, sterility and nihilism.
St. Clare, Happy Hater, pray for us.
