I’ve just re-read this Laramie Hirsch and find his and your logic adamantine and pellucid – black and white – and which is also rarely found today. (Look at Damian Thompson’s recent pontificating retreat from reality on X). What’s keeping the SSPX from simply stating that this state of emergency exists precisely because there is no pope and therefore there could be no papal mandate for consecrating new bishops?

Why has this occurred? We are still (some of us, sadly not the whole Church) in the Octave of Pentecost. The gifts of the Holy Ghost would resolve this situation in the Church in a moment by the “breath of inspiration” working on a hierarchy inclined to God and His Church. The beginning of Wisdom is the Fear of the Lord – servile and filial. How many Cardinals hate sin and its effects, love the Lord and His Mystical Body and have the Fortitude to lay down their lives for Him and His Church?

Trad Inc lack these gifts (mislabeling their approach incorrectly as “prudence”). It appears that most of the hierarchy, if they’re not all of them revolutionaries, are clearly weak men who value inordinately their earthly honors, human respect and lifestyle.

Man through his intellect, rightly ordered by the seven gifts of the Holy Ghost along with man’s will strengthened by His Holy inspirations, would see clearly the assault on the Church, the papacy and the faithful, and would strive mightily to end this revolution.
